South Africa and the Kruger region are an excellent destination for wildlife photography enthusiasts looking to experience a safari with few vehicles.

This region, well-known for safaris, boasts over 300 bird species and nearly 150 mammal species, including the iconic Big 5: lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and buffalo. The area is also known for its high density of predators, such as cheetahs, wild dogs, and spotted hyenas.

You will spend the following 8 days in 2 private reserves in the heart of the Greater Kruger, itself open to the legendary Kruger National Park (twice the size of Corsica, nearly 20,000 km2 of savannah). The selected lodges and reserves will depend on availability, as well as the season, as some species may be easier or harder to observe depending on the time of year and the areas. Among the selected reserves, you'll have the opportunity to stay in Timbavati, Sabi Sands, Klaserie, Manyeleti, or Thornybush.

The selected lodges and camps all share the same philosophy: total immersion in the bush. All establishments are limited to a maximum of 10 rooms, sometimes 4 or 5 in certain reserves, ensuring a unique and exclusive experience. The number of vehicles is strictly limited to 3 or 4 per scene with predators or members of the Big 5, which you can also track off-road—a major advantage for photographers.

Safari days are divided into 2 game drives: one early in the morning at dawn for 3 to 4 hours and the other in the late afternoon, returning to camp after nightfall for dinner. We'll be out in the field at the best times for lighting conditions and animal activity.
