LOWER ZAMBEZI

ZAMBIA

Budget : Premium Safari*

"WILDEST AFRICA"

The Lower Zambezi region

Discover one of Africa's most beautiful parks: the Lower Zambezi. Situated on the banks of the legendary Zambezi River, it covers an area of 4,092 square kilometres. This exceptional protected area is made up of varied landscapes, blue winterthorn forests, flood plains and natural canals that are rich in biodiversity.
The region is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including one of the largest concentrations of leopards in Africa, hundreds of buffalo and large herds of elephant, as well as several packs of wild dogs. Not to mention lions, hippos and numerous species of birds.

The main advantage of the Lower Zambezi is its diversity of safaris: by 4×4 day or night, or on foot, you will have the opportunity to photograph the wildlife in the best conditions. It's also interesting to change your photographic point of view and your approach to the wildlife, which is possible by boat or canoe: 2 exceptional experiences that allow you to get up close and personal with certain species as they swim by.

Dry season

May to October

Ideal for safaris, this period offers optimal conditions for observing the wildlife. The animals congregate near the river and the remaining waterholes, making it easier to spot them. Daytime temperatures remain pleasant, although October can be particularly hot (up to 40°C).

Rainy season

Novembre to April

The rainfall transforms the landscape, making the vegetation denser and greener. Although some camps close temporarily, this period is ideal for birdwatching, with the arrival of many migratory species.

A seasonal destination for memorable safaris

The Lower Zambezi is mainly accessible during the dry season, with the majority of camps open from May to the end of October before the rains.

The perfect destination for wildlife photographers!

In short...

If you dream of total immersion in an unspoilt sanctuary, with canoe safaris on the Zambezi, authentic bush camps and unforgettable encounters with elephants, leopards, lions, wild dogs and much more, then the Lower Zambezi is for you.

Testimonials

Your feedback is my greatest source of pride.

Our stay was packed with animals and incredible scenes of life that you only see ‘in documentaries’.
The lions on a giraffe carcass and the wild dogs that I absolutely wanted to photograph and see hunting😍, not forgetting the leopards that delighted us.

Valentin's knowledge of the South Luangwa Park enabled us to find leopards both during the day and at night, and thanks to his expertise in photography, we were able to learn how to take photos from different angles. He accommodates our wishes and shares his experience to give us the best experience of our safari.

Chazoulle C.

Valentin recommended this destination to me for its more exclusive side and for its reputation as the Valley of the Leopard in South Luangwa. His knowledge of the area enabled us to find and photograph many different leopards with incredible life scenes. We were often alone with the animals, which allowed us to enjoy them to the full.
